Alumina Al2O3 Coatings & Powders
Union City Filament has a variety of custom blended alumina (Al2O3) coating formulas that can be applied to many of our precision wound filaments and heaters. Each formulation is designed to provide necessary electrical insulation or thermal control, while achieving specific properties of adhesion, hardness, and density. Our cataphoretic and flame spray processes are designed to hold tight dimensional and hardness specifications. Typical coating thicknesses can range as low as .0015" and standard purity is 99.65% minimum.
In addition to our coated filaments and heaters, Union City Filament offers electronic grade alumina (Al2O3) powders with customizable particle size. Standard purity is 99.65% minimum.

- UCFRG & UCFRG2SI
Our standard alumina based insulating cataphoretic coating having excellent hardness properties on wire diameters of .015" and below. This formula is also available with a silica additive for increased hardness. - HC-97
Alumina based cataphoretic coating having superior hardness properties on wire diameters of .016" through .040". - HC-91-2PC
Alumina based cataphoretic coating having ultra-high density properties on wire diameters of .015" and below, for use on heaters in fast warm-up metal potted dispenser cathodes. - HC-1EBM
Alumina based cataphoretic coating having superior elasticity properties on wire diameters of .015" and below for use in applications requiring maximum heater flexibility. - FLAME SPRAY
Alumina based flame-spray coating having superior hardness, adhesion, and cohesion properties on wire diameters greater than .040". - HC-93
Alumina based cataphoretic coating having excellent hardness properties on wire diameters of .015" and below, with chromium-oxide (Cr2O3) additives for use in applications requiring greater control of heater temperature and heat transfer.
